Capriotti's Sandwich Shop

The prices on the easy to change electronic menu board were different than my receipt & what I was actually charged. This is the only way a customer knows the price. Otherwise it's literally false advertising. When I asked the associate working the register why my price was different on my receipt vs the price on their menu board they dismissed it & said "corporate changed prices, so the system price you can't see is the right price ." That's ridiculous customer service. Then they proceeded to leave the wrong prices up for future customers. I shouldn't have to beg or plead for a decent buisness to correct their mistake and their false advertising. Why would I have to ask the store multiple times to refund me the difference or to honor the only price they have listed for the item on a giant LED menu board. To make matters worse I filled out a review on their website about the overcharge and lack of service. Gave them 7 days to respond & heard nothing back. Businesses listing knowingly wrong prices on their menus and betting on people not checking their receipts has become a huge problem in Arizona. Do not patron such businesses. Especially if they are not even willing to correct their mistake. This is an unacceptable buisness practice & the lowest level of customer service. The prices are high already here at this establishment. To charge over $1 more for each sandwich than what you have listed in the store is knowingly ripping people off intentionally. The food was good. The staff was not rude. The employee at the register was nice & friendly when I left. But the experience was ruined by the worker at the register not trying to correct the issue and by not caring that they overcharged and ripped off a customer in person & online. I will not return to this place & recommend people don't eat here. It has more to do with the principles of customer service & business practices vs the actual money & quality of the food.

For all the brand hype about America's Best Sandwich, I was a bit underwhelmed. I decided to try their Cheese Steak sub and it was a good sandwich. It was hot and fresh and a good flavor. It's not a "Philly" style. The bread was fresh and almost too soft to support the sandwich and the beef was tender and chopped up pretty small. There was only just enough beef to fill the whole sub roll. It was okay, but forgettable. I am guessing their catering service is a great option for large parties. I may return to give their classic Italian sub a try.

We are always happy to find a Capriotti's on vacation, as they consistently have amazing food and service. This location is no exception. I don't feel food quality is ever a question, as every location we visit is always top-notch with food quality. We ordered on the great mobile app before arriving, and our food was ready when we got there. It was getting busy, but the staff was polite, helpful and great in every way. We will always visit when in the area.

Such a letdown. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten anything so dry and bland before. The basic sandwich was supposed to come with mayo, and they skipped it on both of our orders. Even with adding mayo and dressing at home, nothing could save these sandwiches. Also, I prefer green lettuce, not whitish yellow. I’m going to go crawl back to potbelly’s sandwich shop now and apologize for my indiscretion.

Weird smell, old and musty. Not appetizing as you first enter the restaurant. Sandwiches were extremely dry. The bread tasted as if it was day-old. Sub 1: The chicken cheesesteak, which is my favorite, was over cooked making the meat dry. Combined with the stale bun made for a really hard to eat sandwich. Son #1 had a meatball sub which he didn’t eat because the bun was dry and meatballs didn’t have much if any sauce. The meatballs themselves were also extremely dry, that is the first time I’ve seen that kid pass up on a meatball. Kid #2 had a turkey sandwich with lettuce. Instead of sliced turkey it was shredded, which I had never seen before and thought a bit odd. That combined with the dry bread equaled a second sandwich that didn’t get eaten. Sandwich number four was for my husband, which was the Italian. Bread also inedible and it was the first time I saw him throw away practically a whole sandwich. I love Capriotti’s and wish they had more locations available, so I was very excited to see this location in Scottsdale. The cashier was friendly, but the service was extremely slow. There were 4 to 5 employees working, and with the amount of customers in the building I’m not quite sure why it took so long to prepare our orders. I’ve been a capriottis fan for well over a decade and will say this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. $50 in subs that went to waste. Hopefully corporate quality control can take a look at this location and help them improve, as I would love to see every location stay in business, but with service and product like this, Their future is uncertain.
